The Benedictine Women of Madison's Holy Wisdom Monastery 35,000 ft² building is LEED NC 2.2 Platinum certified with 63 out of 69 possible points and Sustainable Engineering Group served as the Geothermal Designer. Sustainable features include special roofing to decrease heat islands; a geothermal heating and cooling system; photovoltaic cells to generate solar energy for 13 percent of the building's total energy needs.

In 2010, Holy Wisdom Monastery was awarded the title of the 'Greenest Building in the nation' according to the U.S. Green Building Council.
