Bray Architects hired Sustainable Engineering Group as Commissioning Authority to the 100,000 ft² Lake Mills Middle School which includes a high efficiency geothermal HVAC system. SEG's commissioning services were an integral part of the design and construction process from early planning to the post-occupancy warranty period. In addition, Sustainable Engineering Group provided Measurement and Verification services as part of LEED process. The project achieved LEED for Schools Platinum certification. The building was designed to use 50% less energy than one built to the minimum code standards (IECC 2006) and is on track to this goal.
